8 τί ἄπιστον κρίνεται παρ᾽ ὑμῖν εἰ ὁ θεὸς νεκροὺς ἐγείρει;

1  Then¹¹⁶¹ Agrippa⁶⁷ said⁵³⁴⁶ unto⁴³¹⁴ Paul,³⁹⁷² Thou⁴⁶⁷¹ art permitted²⁰¹⁰ to speak³⁰⁰⁴ for⁵²²⁸ thyself.⁴⁵⁷² Then⁵¹¹⁹ Paul³⁹⁷² stretched forth¹⁶¹⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ hand,⁵⁴⁹⁵ and answered for himself:⁶²⁶

2  I think²²³³ myself¹⁶⁸³ happy,³¹⁰⁷ king⁹³⁵ Agrippa,⁶⁷ because I shall³¹⁹⁵ answer for myself⁶²⁶ this day⁴⁵⁹⁴ before¹⁹⁰⁹ thee⁴⁶⁷⁵ touching⁴⁰¹² all³⁹⁵⁶ the things whereof³⁷³⁹ I am accused¹⁴⁵⁸ of⁵²⁵⁹ the Jews:²⁴⁵³

3  Especially³¹²² because I know¹⁴⁹² thee⁴⁵⁷¹ to be⁵⁶⁰⁷ expert¹¹⁰⁹ in all³⁹⁵⁶ customs¹⁴⁸⁵ and^{5037 2532} questions²²¹³ which are among²⁵⁹⁶ the Jews:²⁴⁵³ wherefore¹³⁵² I beseech¹¹⁸⁹ thee⁴⁶⁷⁵ to hear¹⁹¹ me³⁴⁵⁰ patiently.³¹¹⁶

4  My³⁴⁵⁰ manner of life^{981 3303 3767} from¹⁵³⁷ my youth,³⁵⁰³ which was¹⁰⁹⁶ at⁵⁷⁵ the first⁷⁴⁶ among¹⁷²² mine own³⁴⁵⁰ nation¹⁴⁸⁴ at¹⁷²² Jerusalem,²⁴¹⁴ know²⁴⁶⁷ all³⁹⁵⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews;²⁴⁵³

5  Which knew⁴²⁶⁷ me³¹⁶⁵ from the beginning,⁵⁰⁹ if¹⁴³⁷ they would²³⁰⁹ testify,³¹⁴⁰ that³⁷⁵⁴ after²⁵⁹⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ most straitest¹⁹⁶ sect¹³⁹ of our²²⁵¹ religion²³⁵⁶ I lived²¹⁹⁸ a Pharisee.⁵³³⁰

6  And²⁵³² now³⁵⁶⁸ I stand²⁴⁷⁶ and am judged²⁹¹⁹ for¹⁹⁰⁹ the hope¹⁶⁸⁰ of the³⁵⁸⁸ promise¹⁸⁶⁰ made¹⁰⁹⁶ of⁵²⁵⁹ God²³¹⁶ unto⁴³¹⁴ our fathers:³⁹⁶²

7  Unto¹⁵¹⁹ which³⁷³⁹ promise our²²⁵⁷ twelve tribes,¹⁴²⁹ instantly^{1722 1616} serving³⁰⁰⁰ God day²²⁵⁰ and²⁵³² night,³⁵⁷¹ hope¹⁶⁷⁹ to come.²⁶⁵⁸ For⁴⁰¹² which³⁷³⁹ hope's¹⁶⁸⁰ sake, king⁹³⁵ Agrippa,⁶⁷ I am accused¹⁴⁵⁸ of⁵²⁵⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews.²⁴⁵³

8  Why⁵¹⁰¹ should it be thought²⁹¹⁹ a thing incredible⁵⁷¹ with³⁸⁴⁴ you,⁵²¹³ that¹⁴⁸⁷ God²³¹⁶ should raise¹⁴⁵³ the dead?³⁴⁹⁸

9  I¹⁴⁷³ verily^{3303 3767} thought¹³⁸⁰ with myself,¹⁶⁸³ that I ought¹¹⁶³ to do⁴²³⁸ many things⁴¹⁸³ contrary¹⁷²⁷ to⁴³¹⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ name³⁶⁸⁶ of Jesus²⁴²⁴ of Nazareth.³⁴⁸⁰

10  Which thing³⁷³⁹ I also²⁵³² did⁴¹⁶⁰ in¹⁷²² Jerusalem:²⁴¹⁴ and²⁵³² many⁴¹⁸³ of the³⁵⁸⁸ saints⁴⁰ did I¹⁴⁷³ shut up²⁶²³ in prison,⁵⁴³⁸ having received²⁹⁸³ authority¹⁸⁴⁹ from³⁸⁴⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ chief priests;⁷⁴⁹ and⁵⁰³⁷ when they⁸⁴⁶ were put to death,³³⁷ I gave my voice against^{2702 5586} them.

11  And²⁵³² I punished⁵⁰⁹⁷ them⁸⁴⁶ oft⁴¹⁷⁸ in every^{2596 3956} synagogue,⁴⁸⁶⁴ and compelled³¹⁵ them to blaspheme;⁹⁸⁷ and⁵⁰³⁷ being exceedingly mad against^{1693 4057} them,⁸⁴⁶ I persecuted¹³⁷⁷ them even^{2193 2532} unto¹⁵¹⁹ strange¹⁸⁵⁴ cities.⁴¹⁷²

12  Whereupon^{1722 3739} as²⁵³² I went⁴¹⁹⁸ to¹⁵¹⁹ Damascus¹¹⁵⁴ with³³²⁶ authority¹⁸⁴⁹ and²⁵³² commission²⁰¹¹ from³⁸⁴⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ chief priests,⁷⁴⁹

13  At midday,^{3319 2250} O king,⁹³⁵ I¹⁴⁹² saw in²⁵⁹⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ way³⁵⁹⁸ a light⁵⁴⁵⁷ from heaven,³⁷⁷¹ above⁵²²⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ brightness²⁹⁸⁷ of the³⁵⁸⁸ sun,²²⁴⁶ shining round about⁴⁰³⁴ me³¹⁶⁵ and²⁵³² them which journeyed⁴¹⁹⁸ with⁴⁸⁶² me.¹⁶⁹⁸

14  And¹¹⁶¹ when we²²⁵⁷ were all³⁹⁵⁶ fallen²⁶⁶⁷ to¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ earth,¹⁰⁹³ I heard¹⁹¹ a voice⁵⁴⁵⁶ speaking²⁹⁸⁰ unto⁴³¹⁴ me,³¹⁶⁵ and²⁵³² saying³⁰⁰⁴ in the³⁵⁸⁸ Hebrew¹⁴⁴⁶ tongue,¹²⁵⁸ Saul,⁴⁵⁴⁹ Saul,⁴⁵⁴⁹ why⁵¹⁰¹ persecutest¹³⁷⁷ thou me?³¹⁶⁵ it is hard⁴⁶⁴² for thee⁴⁶⁷¹ to kick²⁹⁷⁹ against⁴³¹⁴ the pricks.²⁷⁵⁹

15  And¹¹⁶¹ I¹⁴⁷³ said,²⁰³⁶ Who⁵¹⁰¹ art¹⁴⁸⁸ thou, Lord?²⁹⁶² And¹¹⁶¹ he³⁵⁸⁸ said,²⁰³⁶ I¹⁴⁷³ am¹⁵¹⁰ Jesus²⁴²⁴ whom³⁷³⁹ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ persecutest.¹³⁷⁷

16  But²³⁵ rise,⁴⁵⁰ and²⁵³² stand²⁴⁷⁶ upon¹⁹⁰⁹ thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ feet:⁴²²⁸ for¹⁰⁶³ I have appeared³⁷⁰⁰ unto thee⁴⁶⁷¹ for¹⁵¹⁹ this⁵¹²⁴ purpose, to make⁴⁴⁰⁰ thee⁴⁵⁷¹ a minister⁵²⁵⁷ and²⁵³² a witness³¹⁴⁴ both⁵⁰³⁷ of these things which³⁷³⁹ thou hast seen,¹⁴⁹² and⁵⁰³⁷ of those things in the which³⁷³⁹ I will appear³⁷⁰⁰ unto thee;⁴⁶⁷¹

17  Delivering¹⁸⁰⁷ thee⁴⁵⁷¹ from¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ people,²⁹⁹² and²⁵³² from the³⁵⁸⁸ Gentiles,¹⁴⁸⁴ unto¹⁵¹⁹ whom³⁷³⁹ now³⁵⁶⁸ I send⁶⁴⁹ thee,⁴⁵⁷¹

18  To open⁴⁵⁵ their⁸⁴⁶ eyes,³⁷⁸⁸ and to turn¹⁹⁹⁴ them from⁵⁷⁵ darkness⁴⁶⁵⁵ to¹⁵¹⁹ light,⁵⁴⁵⁷ and²⁵³² from the³⁵⁸⁸ power¹⁸⁴⁹ of Satan⁴⁵⁶⁷ unto¹⁹⁰⁹ God,²³¹⁶ that³⁵⁸⁸ they⁸⁴⁶ may receive²⁹⁸³ forgiveness⁸⁵⁹ of sins,²⁶⁶ and²⁵³² inheritance²⁸¹⁹ among¹⁷²² them³⁵⁸⁸ which are sanctified³⁷ by faith⁴¹⁰² that³⁵⁸⁸ is in¹⁵¹⁹ me.¹⁶⁹¹

19  Whereupon,³⁶⁰⁶ O king⁹³⁵ Agrippa,⁶⁷ I was¹⁰⁹⁶ not³⁷⁵⁶ disobedient⁵⁴⁵ unto the³⁵⁸⁸ heavenly³⁷⁷⁰ vision:³⁷⁰¹

20  But²³⁵ showed⁵¹⁸ first⁴⁴¹² unto them³⁵⁸⁸ of¹⁷²² Damascus,¹¹⁵⁴ and²⁵³² at Jerusalem,²⁴¹⁴ and⁵⁰³⁷ throughout¹⁵¹⁹ all³⁹⁵⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ coasts⁵⁵⁶¹ of Judea,²⁴⁴⁹ and²⁵³² then to the³⁵⁸⁸ Gentiles,¹⁴⁸⁴ that they should repent³³⁴⁰ and²⁵³² turn¹⁹⁹⁴ to¹⁹⁰⁹ God,²³¹⁶ and do⁴²³⁸ works²⁰⁴¹ meet⁵¹⁴ for repentance.³³⁴¹

21  For these causes^{1752 5130} the³⁵⁸⁸ Jews²⁴⁵³ caught⁴⁸¹⁵ me³¹⁶⁵ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ temple,²⁴¹¹ and went about³⁹⁸⁷ to kill¹³¹⁵ me.

22  Having therefore³⁷⁶⁷ obtained⁵¹⁷⁷ help¹⁹⁴⁷ of³⁸⁴⁴ God,²³¹⁶ I continue²⁴⁷⁶ unto⁸⁹¹ this⁵⁰²⁶ day,²²⁵⁰ witnessing³¹⁴⁰ both⁵⁰³⁷ to small³³⁹⁸ and²⁵³² great,³¹⁷³ saying³⁰⁰⁴ none³⁷⁶² other things¹⁶²² than those which^{3739 5037} the³⁵⁸⁸ prophets⁴³⁹⁶ and²⁵³² Moses³⁴⁷⁵ did say²⁹⁸⁰ should³¹⁹⁵ come:¹⁰⁹⁶

23  That¹⁴⁸⁷ Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ should suffer,³⁸⁰⁵ and that¹⁴⁸⁷ he should be the first⁴⁴¹³ that should rise^{1537 386} from the dead,³⁴⁹⁸ and should³¹⁹⁵ show²⁶⁰⁵ light⁵⁴⁵⁷ unto the³⁵⁸⁸ people,²⁹⁹² and²⁵³² to the³⁵⁸⁸ Gentiles.¹⁴⁸⁴

24  And¹¹⁶¹ as he⁸⁴⁶ thus⁵⁰²³ spake for himself,⁶²⁶ Festus⁵³⁴⁷ said⁵³⁴⁶ with a loud³¹⁷³ voice,⁵⁴⁵⁶ Paul,³⁹⁷² thou art beside thyself;³¹⁰⁵ much⁴¹⁸³ learning¹¹²¹ doth make⁴⁰⁶² thee⁴⁵⁷¹ mad.³¹³⁰

25  But¹¹⁶¹ he³⁵⁸⁸ said,⁵³⁴⁶ I am not mad,^{3105 3756} most noble²⁹⁰³ Festus;⁵³⁴⁷ but²³⁵ I speak forth⁶⁶⁹ the words⁴⁴⁸⁷ of truth²²⁵ and²⁵³² soberness.⁴⁹⁹⁷

26  For¹⁰⁶³ the³⁵⁸⁸ king⁹³⁵ knoweth¹⁹⁸⁷ of⁴⁰¹² these things,⁵¹³⁰ before⁴³¹⁴ whom³⁷³⁹ also²⁵³² I speak²⁹⁸⁰ freely:³⁹⁵⁵ for¹⁰⁶³ I am persuaded³⁹⁸² that none^{3756 5100} of these things⁵¹³⁰ are hidden²⁹⁹⁰ from him;⁸⁴⁶ for¹⁰⁶³ this thing⁵¹²⁴ was²⁰⁷⁶ not³⁷⁵⁶ done⁴²³⁸ in¹⁷²² a corner.¹¹³⁷

27  King⁹³⁵ Agrippa,⁶⁷ believest⁴¹⁰⁰ thou the³⁵⁸⁸ prophets?⁴³⁹⁶ I know¹⁴⁹² that³⁷⁵⁴ thou believest.⁴¹⁰⁰

28  Then¹¹⁶¹ Agrippa⁶⁷ said⁵³⁴⁶ unto⁴³¹⁴ Paul,³⁹⁷² Almost^{1722 3641} thou persuadest³⁹⁸² me³¹⁶⁵ to be¹⁰⁹⁶ a Christian.⁵⁵⁴⁶

29  And¹¹⁶¹ Paul³⁹⁷² said,²⁰³⁶ I would^{2172 302} to God,²³¹⁶ that not³⁷⁵⁶ only³⁴⁴⁰ thou,⁴⁵⁷¹ but²³⁵ also²⁵³² all³⁹⁵⁶ that hear¹⁹¹ me³⁴⁵⁰ this day,⁴⁵⁹⁴ were¹⁰⁹⁶ both²⁵³² almost,^{1722 3641} and²⁵³² altogether^{1722 4183} such⁵¹⁰⁸ as³⁶⁹⁷ I²⁵⁰⁴ am,¹⁵¹⁰ except³⁹²⁴ these⁵¹³⁰ bonds.¹¹⁹⁹

30  And²⁵³² when he⁸⁴⁶ had thus⁵⁰²³ spoken,²⁰³⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ king⁹³⁵ rose up,⁴⁵⁰ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ governor,²²³² and⁵⁰³⁷ Bernice,⁹⁵⁹ and²⁵³² they that sat with⁴⁷⁷⁵ them:⁸⁴⁶

31  And²⁵³² when they were gone aside,⁴⁰² they talked²⁹⁸⁰ between themselves,^{4314 240} saying,³⁰⁰⁴ This³⁷⁷⁸ man⁴⁴⁴ doeth⁴²³⁸ nothing³⁷⁶² worthy⁵¹⁴ of death²²⁸⁸ or²²²⁸ of bonds.¹¹⁹⁹

32  Then¹¹⁶¹ said⁵³⁴⁶ Agrippa⁶⁷ unto Festus,⁵³⁴⁷ This³⁷⁷⁸ man⁴⁴⁴ might¹⁴¹⁰ have been set at liberty,⁶³⁰ if¹⁴⁸⁷ he had not³³⁶¹ appealed¹⁹⁴¹ unto Caesar.²⁵⁴¹

Vul

Tunc Paulus extenta manu cœpit rationem reddere:

2 De omnibus quibus accusor a Judæis, rex Agrippa, æstimo me beatum apud te cum sim defensurus me hodie,

9 Et ego quidem existimaveram me adversus nomen Jesu Nazareni debere multa contraria agere,

27 Credis, rex Agrippa, prophetis? Scio quia credis.
