The Book of Poetry, tr. by James Legge, [1876], at sacred-texts.com
IV
The Fei FĂȘng; narrative and allusive. Some one tells his sorrow for the decay of the power of Chou.
1Â Â Not for the stormy wind,
  Nor rushing chariotsâ roar,
But when I view the road to Chou,â
  I'm pained to my heart's core.
  Nor rushing chariotsâ roar,
But when I view the road to Chou,â
  I'm pained to my heart's core.
2Â Â Not for the whirlwind's sweep,
  Nor car's unsteady roll,
But when I view the road to Chou,â
  Deep sadness dulls my soul.
3Â Â For one who fish can cook,
  His boilers I would clear;
So him whose heart beats westward true,
  With these good words I cheer.
